NBA Restart | Opening Night

NBA restart was everything I’d hoped for and more. It opened with a win for the Utah Jazz against the NOLA Pelicans (106-104), followed by the main event, the battle for L.A. with the Lakers vs. the Clippers, and a close game win for the Lakers (103-101).

With a 60 day run to the playoffs at this point, it’s so wild that there hasn’t been a game since early March, however, the restart has been refreshing, especially with the new rules implemented to ensure the safety of the players.

Black Lives Matter was highly represented and it’s nice to see so many players take a positive stand for the movement, because for the Black community, it’s a lifestyle, not just a movement, as Lebron James so eloquently put it during a post-game interview. A few years ago, Colin Kaepernick made headlines for kneeling during the National Anthem and professional sports leagues has made incredible strides since then, but the fight for justice continues. I am personally so proud that it’s been a continuous movement.
