Top 5 Picks from the NFL Draft Class of 2020

Considering the circumstances at bay, I did not expect this year’s draft to be as exciting as it was. I was quite impressed how the NFL was able to pull this off in the midst of quarantine and a world crisis, keeping the fans and the families excited about what’s to come next season.

no.01 // A.J. Terrell to Atlanta Falcons

Hometown Hero, Atlanta’s own was drafted to the Atlanta Falcons who landed on a true gem. They got their guy. With his man coverage abilities, speed, size, drive I think he’s an ideal cornerback. I wasn’t exactly sure what position Falcons were looking to fill, but I do think he’ll be a great addition to the team with so much room to grow and develop into an outstanding pro athlete overtime.

no.02 // Andrew Thomas to New York Giants

Offensive Tackleman, Andrew Thomas is a quality pass protector who has impressive depth, strength, and skill. He’s going to be a beast on defense, especially in plays that focus inside the perimeter and an asset in running games, which I think will be a positive force for the Giants.

no.03 // CeeDee Lamb to Dallas Cowboys

The shocking choice of the night, especially to Eagles’ fanbase, was Dallas Cowboys selecting CeeDee Lamb in the first round. As an Eagles fan, I can objectively point out that with Michael Gallop and Amari Cooper on the receiving corp, playing as artillery for Dak Prescott, Cowboys are going to be a real problem for any team to face on the field this upcoming season. A stellar playmaker, who knows exactly what to do post-catch, Dallas landed upon a true gem.

no.04 // Tua Tagovailoa to Miami Dolphins

Being noted as one of the most effective quarterbacks in program history at the University of Alabama with 87 record touchdown passes and well over 7,000 yards under his belt, Tagovailoa has potential to make the Dolphins one of the top teams in the AFC East. Aside from coming off as a genuine stand up guy with traditional values, he possess the characteristics and skill set of a true quarterback; any team would be lucky to have someone like Tua as the face of the franchise. I honestly believe Tua is going to change the game in Miami.

no.05 // Jalen Hurts to Philadelphia Eagles

By far the most exhilarating moment for me personally was the announcement that quarterback, Jalen Hurts would be joining my Eagles this season. Another outstanding quarterback to add to this list and once-upon-a-time teammate to the previously mentioned Tua Tagovailoa, Hurts has quite the resume: national championship and Big 12 title leader, freshman All-American, touchdowns that have a national top 10 rating, and the list goes on. Represented by the Agent Nicole Lynn is likely what made this moment all the more exciting for me, because I’m definitely a fan of both. Can’t wait to see how he’s able to fit in with the chemistry that already exist in Philadelphia this season.
