Using technology called CO3, 29 year old Anifa Mvuembo., Congolese fashion designer and creative director for Hanifa, makes a historical fashion debut by curating a one-of-a-kind digital runway experience on Instagram Live for the Pink Label Congo capsule collection. An exquisite display of art , she left a remarkable imprint ; not only in the fashion world, but also in the realm of technology, that has - without a shadow of doubt - has changed the game by setting the standard for a new era of creatives. I know everyone will be talking about this, but it was important for me to talk about it too.

Talk about blown away, the team behind this flawless execution had the entire internet shook! Beyond just being absolutely brilliant in formation and execution of Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) powered silhouettes, the message, along with the marketing of this product was pure genius.

It’s hard to not be inspired by the innovation, the obvious work and creative direction behind Pink Label Congo, but to come up with something as aesthetically pleasing as this and ensure that is fueled by purpose for a greater cause is empowering, to say the least, because everything about this collection was a seminal work of art that is going to change the world.

There aren’t enough words to express all the feels, but just know that this young mogul is already well on her way to greatness!

Riddled with a painful history, the beauty of Congo is often untapped and overlooked. The gentleness, beauty, history, poise, majesty, strength, power, and hope of the Congolese spirit inspired this collection. When creating each piece, I was reminded of the stories my mother told me of the women she knew back home in Congo. Women who suffered great loss but still, mustered every ounce of strength everyday to show up. My hope is that this collection inspires all women to stand tall in their power and like the Democratic Republic of Congo, to use their history, whether pretty or painful — to redesign their future. My country, the land of Congo, is ripe with an abundance of natural resources — the greatest of which are its people — its women.
